You are invited to be part of a major new hunting, fishing, and outdoor tourism opportunity for Houston – and to ask for your support in showcasing our community the way it deserves.
We’ve secured a premium double‑page center spread for Houston in the upcoming Northwest Hunting & Fishing Guide, as well as increased presence in the Highway 16 West & Beyond tourism guide. These publications reach travelers, tourists, hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts all along the Highway 16 corridor.
BUT – In order to accomplish this, WE need to come together so that we CAN be represented 💙
We’ve negotiated our spotlight in exchange for hosting an event to collectively and effectively gather the assets needed for our space on the stage.
Our goal is to position Houston as a leading hunting and fishing destination on Highway 16, building on our identity as the Steelhead Capital of the World and home of the world’s largest fly rod.
Who this is for?
This opportunity is ideal for anyone connected to the outdoor, tourism, and support sectors, including:
✅ Fishing guides and charter operators
✅ Hunting guides and outfitters
✅ Local hunting and fishing enthusiasts and advocates
✅ Photographers, adventurers, and journalists of all media backgrounds
✅ Lodges, cabins, and campgrounds
✅ Hotels, motels, and short‑term rentals
✅ Tackle, bait, and outdoor gear shops
✅ Tourism and attraction operators
✅ Firearms, archery, and sporting goods retailers
✅ Wild game butchers and meat processors
✅ Taxidermists and fur/skin processors
✅ Power sports dealers (boats, ATVs, snowmobiles)
✅ Gas stations, convenience stores, and roadside services
✅ Restaurants, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops
✅ Transportation services (shuttles, charters, etc.)
✅ Clubs and associations (rod & gun clubs, conservation groups, outdoor clubs)
✅ Community organizations and sponsors who support local tourism and the outdoor economy
If your work benefits from hunters, anglers, tourists, or outdoor recreation – this is for you.
What we are offering?
By attending and participating, you, your organization and our community will benefit in several ways:
✅ Premium visibility: Inclusion in a double‑page center spread feature on Houston in the Northwest Hunting & Fishing Guide.
✅ Potential additional pages: Extra pages focused on Houston, depending on the amount of local content, images, and advertising we pull together.
✅ Expanded tourism exposure: Stronger representation in the Highway 16 West & Beyond tourism guide, which highlights communities along the corridor.
✅ Discounted advertising rates: Special discounted ad pricing (to be confirmed) for businesses, guides, and organizations that attend this event.
✅ Direct access to the publisher: Meet and work directly with Becky Truxler, Multimedia Sales Representative for The Interior News and the guides, to shape how Houston is presented.
✅ Networking: Connect with other local outdoor businesses, guides, and supporters to strengthen referrals and partnerships.
✅ Credit for your contributions: Any photos, stories, or written content you provide that are used will be credited back to you or your business in the publication.
This is a chance not just to advertise, but to influence the narrative of how Houston appears to visitors and sportspeople across the region.

A shared responsibility
This is a one-time only opportunity. Procuring this community asset is only possible with YOUR contributions and participation. This engagement requires only 2 hours of your time and your community is pleading for your attendance.
We often talk about wanting more for our town — more visitors, more opportunity, more recognition.
This is one of those rare moments when the door opens and someone actually invites us through.
But doors close, too, when we don’t walk through them.
I’m asking you, as a neighbour and as someone who cares about this place:
Please show up.
