The District of Houston is inviting residents to learn about and provide feedback on proposed updates to our planning and development bylaws.

With support from Urban Systems and the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako, the District has drafted a new Zoning Bylaw to replace the land use regulations currently contained in the Development Bylaw. The draft bylaw will help guide how land is used and developed in our community for years to come.

The proposed regulations address:

Land use and density
Building size, location, and setbacks
Subdivision and parcel requirements
Landscaping, screening, and parking standards
And other development-related regulations

In addition to the draft Zoning Bylaw, residents will also have an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed Manufactured Home Park Bylaw and Sign Bylaw.

This is an opportunity to review the draft bylaws, ask questions, and provide feedback before they proceed through the formal bylaw approval process.
